Electro-Mechanical Systems International, Ltd., established in 1979, is an acknowledged leader in
the global marketplace representing finest U.S. manufacturers in the electrical, mechanical and communications industries.
Progress and Commitment In the two years since
Electro-Mechanical Systems International Ltd. (EMSI) published its last services and capabilities communique, the markets we serve have grown and expanded. So have we.
Our sales volume has increased in certain regions while
remaining steady in others. We now employ 35 people here and abroad some of who are engineers. Also after three years of intensive study, EMSI’s managing director is now a Certified Professional Manufacturers’ Representative (CPMR) accredited by the Institute of Professional Advancement.
One of the more important growth-related developments that has taken place has to do not only with the expansion of existing
markets, but with the emergence of new markets and the upgrading of EMSI’s internal capabilities.
The company had moved aggressively into the electronics, data communications and telecommunication markets, and had strengthened
its position in traditional markets, most significantly in lighting.
Geographically speaking, we have opened new sales offices in Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia and the Philippines in response to the accelerated sales activity in those sectors.
But despite these changes, the oft-quoted French proverb is still true: Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose — The more things change, the more they are the same. Our commitment remains the same: assisting electrical manufacturers with the implementation of a comprehensive export sales and marketing plan, and assisting distributors overseas to work more closely with U.S. factories.
Since 1979, when I founded EMSI, the company’s basic purpose has been to fill what I felt was a significant void in the international electrical, mechanical and telecommunications marketing channel.
It was my conviction in the beginning, and it remains so today, that what is needed in the global markets we serve is an international business management firm. And that is what EMSI is.
Today, EMSI represents more than
two dozen manufacturers, is active in some 65 countries in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Oceania and the Pacific Rim, and does some $40 million worth of business annually.
What has remained constant in all efforts is our flexibility, adaptability and ability to move quickly, professionally and cost effectively in the international marketplace. That’s what we continue to do best. Now…here are a few thoughts about who we are, what we do and how we do it.
John O’Donnell, CPMR Managing Director EMSI
