 The White Rubber Corporation carries the product brands "White Rubber" and "Safety Line". Sharing more than 150 years
of combined service to the electric utility industries, the company has established a proud reputation as a leader in personal protective equipment and live-line tools for electrical
workers throughout the world. Headquartered in Ravenna, Ohio, the company was founded in 1918, and in 1933 received the first U.S. patent for linemen’s insulating gloves. In fact, most styles and types of gloves
available today were originally designed by The White Rubber Corporation.
Over the years the company has expanded its product line, increased production capabilities and established a global distributor network.
Today, The White Rubber Corporation product line features a full selection of rubber insulating gloves, leather protectors, rubber insulating sleeves and rubber insulating blankets, accessory items and inspection
equipment including glove inflators, sleeve expanders, glove inner liners, carrying bags and climber guards.
In 1992 the company acquired Safety Line, Inc., a manufacturer of live line
tools. Since then White/Safety Line has gained international recognition as a leading single-source supplier of personal protective equipment and live-line tools for electrical workers.
Established in 1919, Safety Line was originally known as the Safety Live-Line Tool Company, specializing in the design and manufacture of
hot sticks and live-line work methods, based on the founder’s first-hand knowledge as a working lineman. Safety Line is the nation’s oldest manufacturer of live-line tools and continues to work closely with electric
utilities developing equipment for specific live-line work methods and practices. Safety Line’s product line features over 4,000 products for use in overhead and underground applications, including fiberglass insulating
handles, clamp sticks, tool attachments, earthing/grounding equipment, underground tools, covers and protectors, pole accessories, boom attachments, cutters, hand tools and one of the most complete meter and
detector lines available in the industry today.
