NEMA Advisory Forum EMSI’s Executive Vice-president, Sulaiman Mohammed, has joined the NEMA International Sales & Marketing Executive Advisory Forum. The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) is the largest trade association in North America specifically representing the interests of manufacturers of products used in generation, transmission, distribution and use of electrical energy.
Most current NEMA programs is the development of a new initiative to combat counterfeit electrical products. NEMA will host a meeting on March 13, 2002 to discuss combatting counterfeit electrical products, and the centerpiece
of the program’s discussion will be a proposal to organize a program involving NEMA, electrical products certifiers, and perhaps other trade associations involved in distributing electrical products. The goal of this proposal is to
facilitate communications with the federal government and product certifiers about counterfeit electrical products, including the importance of training customs inspectors, communicating with U.S. and foreign government embassies and
agencies, and sharing information about the detection of counterfeit electrical products.
As an International Sales & Marketing Executive Advisoy Forum member, EMSI can contribute and help guide NEMA as it continues its
program of serving members and serving the industry in the years ahead.
